The research team at New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) has recently released data on the pet population throughout neighborhoods in the five boroughs. The data shows how many dogs and cats (approximately 1.1 million in the city as a whole) live in each neighborhood.

Astoria is one of the neighborhoods with the highest population of these furry friends (between 30,001 and 41,627). Williamsburg, the Upper East Side, and the Upper West Side are among the other areas with similar numbers.
